How to purchase Wakakirri tickets
Click here to find out when and how to purchase tickets for a 2011 Wakakirri show.
How it works…
Wakakirri is a popular show and many shows, especially heats, do sell out. It is best to order tickets through your school first.
Tickets to Wakakirri shows are distributed in three stages:
Stage 1.
Tickets are offered to participating schools: The number of tickets offered to each school is calculated based on the total number of students in that night’s show and the number of students participating from each school. Schools take orders for tickets from parents and members of the school community and send in the money for the tickets they require. Sometimes tickets are extremely limited.
Stage 2.
Waiting list for unsold Stage 1 tickets: If a school needs more tickets than they have been allocated, the school contacts the ticketing agent and puts their name on the waiting list for more tickets. If a school does not need all the tickets they have been allocated in Stage 1, the unwanted tickets are offered to the schools on the waiting list.
Stage 3.
Public Sale: If there are still tickets available after this, they will be offered to the general public for sale. Any unsold tickets will be sold on the door on the night.
Ticketing Prices
Ticket prices for Wakakirri Heats and Grand Finals vary from venue to venue, depending on the hiring costs in each state. Prices range from $30 -$36. Please note, Wakakirri is a not for profit organisation and we endeavour each year to make the tickets as affordable as possible despite dramatic increases in venue hire across the country. We rely on ticket sales to cover these costs and appreciate your support in keeping this organisation afloat.
NOTE: Parents should make payment out to their child’s school. Schools should then send through one payment for tickets – please check carefully on your School Ticket Order Form where to send payment as not all payments are sent to Wakakirri.
Ticket sales on the night are cash-only at many venues. If you are purchasing tickets on the night, please be prepared.
Ticketing FAQs
Is there a concession or group price? All tickets are set at the same price for each show. Please check ticketing prices closer to the date.
Do children under 3 need a ticket? In most venues children under three do not need a ticket if they sit on a parents lap – please confirm with your school.
