National Results Announced

In a ceremony in Sydney on the 7th of November, we announced the official results for Wakakirri High 2011. The 3 top films were:
1st Place – Sydney Girls High School ‘Last Week’
2nd Place – Charles Campbell Secondary School ‘The Way We Move is Who We Are’
3rd Place – Kelvin Grove State School ‘Restrictions’

Wakakirri HIGH Returns!

Secondary Schools are being given the opportunity to share their way of living through a series of exciting film festivals in each state and territory of Australia.
Make a film, enter it in the Wakakirri High festival and come along to walk the red carpet at your very own film premiere. Plus there’s the chance to have your film screened on national television. This is an amazing opportunity to develop your filmmaking skills and to share your work with a massive audience. A range of prizes will be awarded so start rehearsing your acceptance speech now …

See your film on the BIG SCREEN!

For those interested in making short films, we are rolling out the red carpet and Wakakirri will hit the big screen in October thanks to Event Cinemas.
Make a film, enter it in the Wakakirri High festival (for secondary schools) or the Wakakirri Primary Story-Film category (for Primary schools) and come along to walk the red carpet at your very own film premiere. Plus there’s the chance to have your film screened on national television. This is an amazing opportunity to develop your filmmaking skills and to share your work with a massive audience. The Film premieres are slated for 24th of October, 2011 at the following cinemas: QLD – Event Cinemas Indooroopilly; SA – Event Cinemas Marion; NSW – Event Cinemas Castle Hill; ACT – Greater Union Cinemas Manuka; WA – Greater Union Cinemas Morley; VIC – Greater Union Cinemas Melbourne City. (TAS – location and date is yet to be confirmed)
