2008 Signature Item

For extra fun and for those schools looking for a starting point or perhaps a new challenge, schools can include a signature item in their works.

The 2008 signature item is “TAP”

Schools entering the Wakakirri National Story Festival are invited to represent the signature item as part of their work in any way they choose.  Awards will be handed out during the festival and competition series.
 
Incorporating the signature item is a creative challenge that schools can enjoy. It is not compulsory and each year the signature item changes. The signature item can be interpreted in any way you wish.

For example the signature item ‘tap’ could be (although certainly not limited to):
 
......tap dancing .... tapping into something .... a water tap ........

Schools are not asked to create their item around the signature item (you can if you want) but rather to include it creatively in your item. And, it is ENTIRELY OPTIONAL.
