City Wakakirri is a national series of live festivals held for schools in capital cities. The festivals are held in professional theatres and provide a format to bring together different schools to display and perform their Story Dance, Singing and Telling works for each other and an audience of family and friends.

City Wakakirri consists of a series of Heats and Finals in each State.

Smaller versions of the City Wakakirri program are held in regional areas. All schools that participate in city events are eligible to make the Wakakirri national TV Special aired in December.

City Wakakirri schools can also enter the national Story Writing, Story Arts and Story Film competitions.
