Wakakirri Outback Festival

The Wakakirri Outback Program gives students and their communities from remote and regional areas of Australia the opportunity to produce a festival, celebrating their community and culture. Wakakirri provides students with workshops in filmmaking, performing and visual arts so they can create and share stories with their community for the festival day and beyond.

Students and their communities all around Australia share their stories through the Wakakirri Outback Festival. You can check them out by clicking on the “View Films” icon on the right. Enjoy!

“The Wakakirri Outback Program is tremendously valuable to the lives of Indigenous children in  remote areas because of its focus on sustainable living and the opportunity it provides these children to share their stories and experiences with not only one another, but with their community and many other communities around Australia”
