Nominate Your Student Representative To ensure every school entered in Wakakirri 08 has the chance to fill Australia in on what they’re up to as part of this year’s festival, we’re asking each participating school to nominate a student representative to act as a school reporter. This representative will correspond with the Wakakirri office via e-mail, letting us know all the behind-the-scenes stories and supplying us with photos. They will receive the monthly Wakakirri student newsletter and will be required to report back to the other participating students at their school. Once a month, a report with all the stories and photos sent into us by students will be compiled and posted online so all students can check out what everyone else is up to. There will also be an award presented at the end of the year to the best student reporter. They could be the next Lois Lane or Clark Kent, only less fictional. Teachers and coordinators will be given the opportunity to proof necessary material sent to Wakakirri by the student representative prior to it being published. The student representative will also be informed of all the latest student news, prizes, activities and competitions. Each school may have only one student representative for each competition/item entered and this person must be appointed by the teacher/coordinator in charge. If desired, you may have the student newsletter sent to a coordinators email address (to be forwarded on to the student rep at your school).
