The Eco-Zone Association

Eco-Zone is a not for profit organisation that creatively develops the competence of Australian children, and through them the broader community, to think and act in an environmentally responsible manner.

Through Wakakirri, Eco-Zone teaches students to reduce, reuse and recycle when making props and costumes for performances. This unique, fun, hands on approach to environmental education through performing arts is used every year by over 400 schools and their surrounding communities.

Eco-Zone has developed materials such as teaching kits, guides, videos that are available, free of charge, to every school in Australia.

Eco-Zone is pioneered and developed in association with the Wakakirri National Story Festival – Australia’s largest performing arts event.

Eco-Zone receives its funding through partnerships with industry and government bodies who support the environmental messages and outcomes Eco-Zone is promoting to a target market of young Australian families.
